Oh, what have I done?

I am now the chairman of the Ogle County Democrats. I hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew.

Our old chairman wanted to retire. He will help me get started, and I know that I can go to him with any questions. He also told me not to stress. I did stress the first year or so that I was treasurer.

I have a good executive board, with several experienced people. They will help me get going, too.

I may not be here as much, especially at first, as I get organized and get some new ideas and activities going. April will be especially busy, as will the summer, with our annual fundraiser. Well, I have always loved grassroots politics. I guess I will get to do even more with them in the future.

We just elected new leadership in the DuPage Democrats too. Hopefully this is the year both of our counties will kick out the Republicans.

4. That's a tough one in DuPage County.

I know things are changing there, but that is such a red area. I used to live there.

Are you in the 14th? I hope Foster wins there. His district extends out to a county adjacent to mine. We don't need the Milk Nazi in Congress.

My son is a Democratic election judge in Naperville. He will be working as an election judge on the day of the general election, which is also his 27th birthday. I am proud that this is how he has chosen to spend his birthday.
