This is going to scare the crap out of the GOP, especially the ones in the House. Here's hoping so many more Reps. retire, including Shadegg in Arizona (who initially said he was going to retire, then changed his mind when pressed), and many others!

The DuPage portion of the district is almost ALL upscale McMansion territory. I put out a lot of Laesch signs and made a lot of phone calls in the primary; I hope some of that awareness effort spilled over to him in the special election. Every Laesch supporter I know turned out to vote. His 78-vote margin in Dupage just might be at least partly my doing!
Hey, I feel like a grass root!

9. I Leasch had fought the same as the GOP candidates. we may not have won |

John deserves a lot of credit for how he handled himself during the election and how he handled the recount issue. dirty fighting like the GOP did may have killed us.

6. Kudos And A Great Job For All... |

I'm torn as to what is more enjoyable...seeing the Milk Nazi's career all but come to an end or the thought of Blue now traversing from Lake Michigan straight west to the Mississippi.
The DeKalb numbers were awesome...is Greg Sparrow still active out that way? Also Oberweis didn't win Kendall...his home county. Sheesh.
This really was a team effort of several very dedicated unions, netroots and volunteers from other campaigns and it shows what a good progressive candidate, a motivated ground operation and a strong party can do in almost any district.
Yep, Kirk's living on borrowed time...Seals has one tight organization in place. Also Debbie Halvorson should be hard to beat for Rios-Weller's seat. Things have sure come a long way from when a Democrat would be laughed at in these areas, now it's Hello, Congressman Foster!!
Here's to more celebrations and my appreciation for all who participated in this big victory.

I am a DeKalb County resident and I'm glad we had the highest percentage of votes cast for Foster! I was out of town for the special election but I voted absentee 5 days before; when I got to the courthouse to vote, there had already been about 40 ballots cast! People want change!!!
