an appearance Zirkle said was in keeping with a promise to address any group
interested in his idea that the country should weigh segregating people by race.

Zirkle, a lawyer from South Bend, said it would likely offend some voters
here that he delivered remarks Sunday during an American National Socialist
Workers Party meeting in Chicago.

SNIP>Zirkle said the appearance wasn't an endorsement of the group,
because " I don't really know much about them."

A photo of the gathering on the Web site www.overthrow.com shows Zirkle
standing in front of a large photo of Hitler, while flags emblazoned with swastikas
hang on either side.
