my ward party meets tonight and our speaker is alexi. one of the things i love about the locals here is that we hold no grudges. a guy who ran against my alderman once is a member of the board, and very active. we didn't endorse alexi, but will certainly work for him in november. i have to wonder how much the bank stuff will stick. i hope he has a couple good one liners about it. a laugh always takes the sting out of this kind of shit.

he is becoming a good candidate. he is charming enough. ofa illinois has electing him as a big goal. as far as the bank stuff, he didn't get a chance to bring it up himself, although he said he had been planning to. i think that right there is smart. but he pointed out how many other small banks have gone under, and pointed out that their primary business was real estate loans. i think that will satisfy most sane people. he answered questions, and did fine. i wish he had gone into more detail on his opinions on the stock market, etc, as i know he has an educated viewpoint. he has a lot of things to pat himself on the back for as treasurer. all in all, i think he will be fine.
