who else is signed up with meetup?

i have had several e-mails from meetup.com with people who have signed up for a d.u. meetup. i figure these are people who are outside the regular loop. i think i heard that they made some changes in how they work. anyone know about this? do you think we ought to try to run the next one through them, and see if we get some new faces?
i am busy over the next few weeks, but i think we should get something going before everyone gets all wrapped up in christmas.
suggestions?
