he has joined the dump cegalis brigade, i have some big doubts, also. but seriously, i always thought he was a centrist, and a political animal. at any other time, that would be an acceptable position. in these times, we need people with cojones.

Murtha? Nice comparison, whoever made it.
Murtha's been a hawkish dem, trusted by the pentagon for decades.
Obama's been in the Senate for 11 months.

I might take it a bit more seriously if you were actually running as a DEMOCRAT.

He's running as an independent. Melissa Bean is unopposed in the Democratic primary. Bill intends to make it a three way race in November, a move that will only help the Republicans.

| 18. Because Bill Schuerer is an Opportunist |
|
Who would rather let Republicans control Congress than re-elect the woman who beat the tar out of him in the 2002 primary. Case in point?
Bill Scheurer, DEMOCRATIC candidate questionnaire (IVI-IPO), January 12, 2004: Do you support: a. the Human Life Amendment? No. b. parental or spousal notification or consent to obtain an abortion? No. c. restoration of Medicaid coverage of abortion? Yes. d. a ban on so-called partial birth abortions? No. e. insurance coverage for abortions for federal and military employees and their dependents? Yes.
Bill Scheurer, "Independent" candidate for Congress, Lakeland Media, October 13, 2005: "Scheurer, who considers himself a life-oriented person, opposes abortion ... he would allow for 'extenuating circumstances' such as rape, incest and the life and health of the woman."
Bill Scheurer, DU blogger, December 7, 2005: "I'll be posting my views on the website fairly soon. I refuse to accept the labels of 'life' and 'choice' in this important discussion."
Well, I refuse to accept Bill's self-serving crap. If he hates "Bush Democrats" so much, then he should run as a "Pure Democrat" instead of helping a Repug win -- except he knows he'll lose a primary and has trouble being "pure" on one of the biggest parts of the party's platform.
Sell stupid somewhere else, Bill. And if you're going to pick an issue to be inconsistant and pander to right wingnuts, try one people can't find out by doing a google search and looking at your webstie;.

| 25. Why are you posting on a Democratic web site when you are opposing |
|
a Democratic incumbent? Did you know you are in direct violation of the DU rules you agreed to abide by when you signed up on DU? Towhit: Democratic Underground is an online community for Democrats and other progressives. Members are expected to be generally supportive of progressive ideals, and to support Democratic candidates for political office.http://www.democraticunderground.com/forums/rules.htmlSince you are an Independent candidate seeking to unseat a Democratic Incumbent, you are in direct and flagrant violation of the rules here simply by posting here.
