And for those who could not attend his memorial service.
MommaKef, Kef's Uncles and other family members, his Masonic brothers, and friends both here and in Indy gave his body a farewell to this world, while honoring his spirit that lives on.
Skinner, Hippie Chick and Voltaire all gave wonderful tributes to Kef and represented the thousands and thousands of voices here who so appreciated Kef's contributions to this community, and Rick joined in by recording. More than a dozen DUers were there.
We toasted him more than once.
One aspect of Kef's personality that was emphasized, over and over, was his kindness, and his generosity of spirit. He reached out to people who did not agree with him without rancor, without hatred.
Thanks to all those who contributed, Kef was remembered by DUers in flowers, as well.
Kef's memorial was unique for me. A first. I'd never attended a Masonic funeral, and I'd never attended a funeral to honor someone I knew as an online person.
Behind every name here are family and friends who love that person. That's important to remember. That was made apparent at Kef's memorial.

Kef and his family were in my thoughts all day yesterday. I know I was there in spirit, as I'm sure a lot of us were.

I am still heart-broken that I could not make it, but thanks to FedEx I managed a VIRTUAL presence...

5. The book was wonderful, Rick... |

You did a beautiful job of capturing everyone's thoughts in that book! Thank you so much for the great remembrance. His family really appreciated it. It was an honor to meet my fellow DUers at the calling; what an intelligent, well-spoken bunch! So many are due thanks for being there...Skinner, Plaid Adder, Hippie Chick, IndianaGreen, Voltaire...you are all in my thoughts! I can only hope that the next time we all meet in person again that it will be under better circumstances; but I bless Kephra for bringing us all together. I think he's smiling down on us now...

I shared a moment of silence yesterday when the services started. I wish I could have gone. Thanks for the representation too

My first time meeting DUers, among other things. It was really nice meeting all of you. I also want to thank bloom for picking the spot for the pre-service get-together and hippiechick and Voltaire for organizing. I hope to see you all again at some point under better circumstances.
C ya,
The Plaid Adder

I've lived in IN eight years, and Hoosiers seem to be pretty nice people.
