Personally I don't trust the beady-eyed little lizard as much as I can throw him.

2. I can't imagine that the state house repubs |

would go along with the idea... not sure what the strategy to propose it but know that it would fail would be - esp if he were to be the one tagged with tax hiker...
indeed, however, it is the right direction.

look at this thread at the Star. Most repug voters all the sudden think taxing the rich is a good plan. The same plan they were making fun of Kerry for (nearly). Though some are angry. http://www.indystar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94845

4. Bosma said no tax hikes period |
|
So I reckon he surely will be against "surcharges" as well. The rest of this legislative season will be fun to watch.
In other news....Pitchers and Catchers report to camp in one month. Can spring be far behind!!!

He's trying to appear "bipartisan." He'll tie it to something completely unacceptable to the Democrats, then whine that they "don't want to work with me."
Hell, it's what I'd do, it's good political strategy.
I'll believe this shit when I see it.

6. What they'll do is raise this tax as a 'symbolic gesture' ... |
|
and cut some spending at the county/local levels, which will cause them to raise EVERYONE's property, etc taxes - so the middle and little guy will get royally screwed as usual, while the private school crowd will only have to pay their 'increased' income tax.
Make sense ? Bush math. It looks like the rich will pay, but in reality, the rest of us will end up paying more - just into a different piggy bank.
It amazes me reading that Star forum, what a thorough job the GOP has done setting the lower & middle classes against each other. The spite and bile being thrown by folks who should be working together AGAINST the aristocracy is just fascinating - and sad at that same time. :(

7. If you haven't read it yet |

check out "What's the Matter with Kansas" by Thomas Frank. The entire book is pretty much about what you just described.
