Focus on the Family's morning "news" program in E-ville |

I no longer live there. Does anyone know what this is all about? See link about half way down in right hand column. http://www.14wfie.com/Global/category.asp?C=38579

but I'll have to pass on Dobson's syndicated program. I had no idea it was on any of the local stations, but it doesn't surprise me in the least. There are plenty of fundies in my region who I'm sure hang on Dobson's every word.

WFIE is a commercial station. If Dobson's show were being shown on WNIN - the local PBS affiliate - I would be questioning tax-exempt status.

but doesn't Dobson skirt the laws governing tax-exempt organizations by not openly endorsing a candidate for office? Otherwise, he's just doing what any other televangelist has been doing for years - producing syndicated programming for commercial TV & radio stations. I don't think it's right that religiosios get a free ride with their tax-exempt status, but it's not illegal. SHOULD be. But it's not. Not so long as he doesn't openly endorse a particular candidate for political office.

He can buy time on a commercial station and not lose his exempt status. Just as long as he's not endorsing political candidates.
Don't you remember when there wasn't anything to look at on Sunday morning Teeee-Veeeee but preachers?

7. They usually have a focus on the family minute... |
|
... during the news programs in the morning and at 5 & 6. It is usually just Dobson talking about keeping your children away from gays, and different points of view.
How this man hasn't had his doctorate revoked I will never know
