2nd anniversary of US slaughter in Iraq |
|
As the eve draws near of the second anniversary of the US escalation of the slaughter in Iraq, the Bush regime is asking Congress for $82 billion to help perpetuate it. The time has come to say NO to this terrible waste of fiscal, natural, and human resources. Our tax dollars and our young men are needed here at home, and a growing majority of people, from ordinary citizens to Legislators and Governors, are calling for the end of this waste. Army recruiting is falling short of the goals needed to maintain the occupation of this far-off land, so the Bush regime has initiated strict stop-loss orders to force unwilling personnel to stay in uniform after their voluntary enlistment period has been fulfilled. Regardless of the fact that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and was proven to have no weapons of mass destruction, the Bush regime continues to force our military to dig in and occupy this far-off region. The time has come to put unrelenting pressure on the Bush regime to bow to the will of the people. I invite you to stand with me and many others who will protest this terrible war, at noon Saturday, March 19, at the Fort Wayne Courthouse Green, and 1 pm on Sunday at Monument Circle in Indianapolis. The time to act is now! - Bruce R. Hall
