Good news about brother-in-law!! |
|
We've just received good news! My brother-in-law met with military base doctors today and they ruled him "undeployable." He could be released as early as this weekend.
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
I am so relieved. I won't relax until he's officially discharged, but this is the first good news we've had on this and I feel like celebrating just a little!
Thanks again to all who supported us! :hi:

...I saw your post this morning that he had reported and was horrified. My brother reported for induction in 1970.He had lost his college deferment and was inducted in August after he had reapplied to school, been accepted and was told his deferment documents were on their way...Long story short,a 19 year old ignored scholastics in his first year of college freedom...phone calls from my Dad verified he indeed HAD a valid deferment, But according to the Army he had reported and taken the oath so tough shitski...Result...one year in the A Shau Valley with the 101st Airborne...Keep watching them with an eagle eye-they are shameless!!!

9. we knew with his bi-polar diagnosis |
|
that he had no business being deployed. But we also knew that the military needs warm bodies to throw at that hideous war.
So we've been desperately hoping the military would acknowledge his diagnosis and follow their own rules.
Looks like they're going to, for once.

but we've got my hubby's kool-aid drinking parents agreeing that the war is not a good thing!
Now if we can get them to vote Dem or just stay home from the polls next time...

His parents are on board to push that (they live closest to him) and we're certainly going to communicate that rather loudly to him ourselves. ;-)
