I don't know if this made the news up in y'alls parts, so I wanted to let you know about such a wonderful thing these folks did. It's mostly about the young man's football teammates, but it also includes the Habitat group info. :)

BON WIER - It took 17-year-old Josh Alford two days to tear down the remains of the home that Rita destroyed. When he initially climbed through the debris of the two-bedroom trailer he shared with his mother, Brenda Faye Adams, 51, he couldn't believe his house was gone. But he was firm in his belief that he would live in another house again.

In November, an older son, Eugene Winters, 25, gave her the news about the new house. Standing inside what will be the living room, Winters rested his right arm on one of the wood posts and thought about what might have happened if he hadn't joined the Navy after graduating from Newton High School.
If he hadn't gone to boot camp in Illinois, he wouldn't have met his wife. If he hadn't met his wife, he wouldn't have known about the Habitat for Humanity home his mother-in-law received 10 years ago and her continuing interest in the organization. When Winters, who is attending Bethel College in Mishawaka, Ind., asked her how he could help his mother, her answer was obvious.
The Habitat for Humanity in nearby South Bend, Ind., started raising funds for the home with the help of local television station WNDU. The Indiana organization then teamed up with the newly formed Citizens Organized for Rita Restoration in Newton County.
