Sen. Robert Jackman, R-Milroy, was rushed to Methodist Hospital this morning after experiencing "significant back pain" and difficulty breathing, according to Jamie Jorczak, communications director for the Senate Majority Caucus.

Doctors were performing "a battery of tests" on Jackman, 62, to determine whether to admit him to the hospital, according to Jorczak. The senator was listed in fair condition.
Paramedics came to Jackman's office in the Statehouse at about 10:15 a.m. and wheeled him out on a gurney. Jackman was conscious and breathing through a nasal mask as he was taken out of his office.
