Hey Hoosiers! I have been seeing many more Kerry... |
|
bumper stickers! Today I drove by a car with both Kerry & Kernan on it, just like mine and we waved. It's a great sign! Also, heard a new poll out shows Kerry trailing Bush by ONLY 7 pts! -the same as national polls. Maybe, just maybe we can turn this state around. :hi:

1. would be nice, wouldn't it?! |

I've seen a couple other Kerry/Anti-bush stickers here in Terre Haute... but overall a lot more of the big trucks with Bush/Support Our Troops/Power of Pride stickers... But I really do hope you're right! Keep talking to people, one at a time!

3. Yes, I've seen more, too. |

I was at my daughter's volleyball tournament this past weekend and someone from out of town who was parked in the lot had a bunch of stickers on it--Bayh!, Kernan-Davis, and on one side window there was a suction sign that said "Clinton lied, nobody died" and there was another on the other side of the window that said something about Bush but I forget what it was now.
I parked right next to the car with my Joe Donnelly-Democrat for congress and Kerry-Edwards stickers on the back!
I've also ordered stickers for 4 of my family members here in town.

5. Oh yeah! I just received my DU sticker! |
|
I bet nobody around here in my predominantly Repub town will know what it is! I also ordered a MOB-mothers against bush t-shirt. Should I dare wear it around town? I might get attacked I fear! This town is only 19,000. Everybody knows everybody.

the gloves are off!!! Also, have been looking for a church as I am new to this community. I went to a church called "Kingsway Christian" and thought I'd landed a the RNC...the pastor started shouted about Evan Bayh and the congregation rose, cheering & clapping. :grr: My husband & I left in a hurry and I think we'll be looking for another Methodist church. But, I tell ya-the gloves are off...:hi:

13. See lots in Bloomington... |
|
but an increasing number around Indy as well. Would say that the number of my sightings antibush/prokerry are about equal to bush/cheney in Indy. But... I think that is in part due to not seeing that many Bush/Cheney stickers... this time around, at least so far, I don't see so much enthusiasm for Bush/Cheney displayed on cars.
A couple of months ago I started seeing a whole lot of My Man Mitch yard signs in different parts of Indy... (no bush/cheney, btw)... but I don't see quite as many these days. Almost like many are just a little less likely (thus far) to show their support (are they a little embarrassed???)

18. I grew up in Bloomington, then moved to Bedford as an adult |

After being in Florida for three years, I went back home for a weekend... the weekend F/911 opened. It was SO nice to see that Bloomington had gone liberal! Even as a young girl growing up there, I can remember it being very conservative. Thank God for diversity and IU!

if the media doesn't put Indiana in gw* much later than they usually do then that will mean trouble for bush/cheney

Thing is, the campaign doesn't really do anything here, since they (rightfully, I might add) need to spend money in swing states like Ohio and Pennsylvania to win. We get people coming into the Jennings for Congress office asking for Kerry stuff all the time, and we don't have anything to give them, because there's not really anyone in the state to get stuff from.

I was in Goshen and South Bend the past few days and saw quite a few Kerry signs and not many Bush signs. Was pleasantly surprised.

17. I think that area is heavily Dem as opposed to most of the rest of the |
|
state. There are pockets. I live in north central Indiana about an hour away and I can tell you that in my little town, all I see is B/C and Mitch and Chocola signs. There are a lot of Kernan-Davis and Donnelly signs around but the Repubs have placed their signs in key locations where they can--and they often more than not have them all bunched up in one yard. Chocola has his spread out so there is at least one on each block. The B/C, Daniels, Chocola trios are spaced out in key locations. Our local Dem party has ordered about 100 K/E signs but I just am not seeing them in any key locations if they are out there. I only see 2 K/E signs on our main drag. I also donated 10 and also gave some to my family and one to me but we aren't in key locations where many would see. I wish I could see more of ours in key locations!!!
Three people I gave voter registrations to at one house now have the Repub trio signs in their yards right in a key location!!! They had never voted before. The woman said one of her relatives works for the secret service for Bush. I should've known. But she had a UAW t-shirt on and her factory she works for is not doing well. Doesn't she get it? How discouraging! I guess to each his own! People don't often vote in their best interests. How sad.
