"Shall I compare Ann Coulter to a summer's day? A scarecrow, perhaps. Surely, she is less lovely and more blustery than a summer's day.
A flower is a much-used metaphor for femininity, and many would seem more than appropriate as a comparison to a Coulter.
Shall I compare Ann Coulter to a flower, then?
There is the titan arum, or corpse flower, for example. Its "powerfully malodorous stench of rotting fish" announces its presence long before its countenance comes into view.
The putrid stinkhorn fungi would be another good choice. It appears almost overnight in your backyard and entices "flesh and fecal-loving insects to visit their stinking blossoms."
And then there is "The flesh-colored, hairy blossom of S. gigantea … with a nauseating stench. Fringes of soft white hairs on the reddish brown petals superficially resemble a layer of mold growing on rotting matter."
...Coulter is scheduled to speak on the topic, "Liberals Are Wrong About Everything!" at the Indiana University Auditorium tonight at 7. And she will say outrageous things - far beyond the comparisons above, which pale in comparison to the conservative cheerleader's stock in trade."
