but now they just get on my fucking nerves. Beltway Bandits we used to call them when I lived there, that's just what they are too. This party had better wean itself off of goddamned consultants or they might never win another election.

Too bad he (Dan) didn't share this with others (like those of us on his MAILING LIST, for example).
Just when I'm ready to write off the locals, we see something like this that gives me hope!
Here's a novel idea: how about requiring that anyone who's a consultant must announce his win/loss record, just like a professional athlete - maybe on the back of a baseball card? That would certainly help the rest of us to decide if their ideas or their books contain anything that might help those of us in local campaigns. Between Carville and Begala, they would have a pretty sorry record and not much to crow about...
