First - last month - there was a python (dead, I think) in the White River north of Indy, now someone's seen a 10 foot alligator near downtown?

"At first I thought it was a log," Goode, 35, said of the object he spotted in the water about 5 p.m., just a few hundred yards south of the Washington Street bridge. "But then it took off -- and that was enough for me to decide it was time to go."
What Goode and at least three others, including an Indianapolis Police Department environmental officer, saw appeared to be an alligator or similar creature. Actually there were two -- one about 10 feet long, the other about 2 feet long -- said Brad Craig, an IPD environmental officer who was patrolling along the west bank of the river when Goode and two friends flagged him down and reported what they had just seen.
