Mitch Daniels to privatize IU, Purdue |
|
In an effort to fund all day kindergarten, Mitch Daniels today announced a plan to lease the state's two largest public universities to a private consortium for 75 years. The proceeds of the lease will cover the cost of kindergarten for every child in the state. Complete details of the lease were not made available to anyone. It was revealed however that during the term of the lease, no improvements may be made to any other public universites or colleges in the state. The consortium is expected to raise tuition at their whim, outlaw the teaching of evolution, and enforce co-ed abstinence. In what is called a victory for citizens of the state, the consortium will be required to display the American flag.
Had you for a minute didn't I?

4. Govenor Daniels to privatize Indiana's public toilets. |
|
The govenor yesterday proposed a German company be awarded a 75-year contract to manage all 6001 Indiana public restrooms. Starting in 2008 all toilets located in the Statehouse, county governmental buildings, state parks, and public schools would be under the control of WASSERSPRITZ, a sanitary company based in Mecklenburg. Daniels says the up-front lump sum of 13 million would be used to fund full-day pre-kindergarten. He believes that starting four-year-olds with basic courses in trigonometry, chemistry, and biblical studies will pay off in keeping more graduates in Indiana instead of them scatteing out to other states, and will help Indiana's churches to increase their congregations. The German company is expected to institute their local custom of customers paying a ten-cent toll for using public toilets. A matronly woman would be stationed at the door of each rest room and would assist in cleaning and pointing to the nearest urinal or stall for use by folks or students in a hurry. Most "John-Nannies" are volunteers and work for tips. Democrats will of course oppose the plan declaring that most Indiana citizens already know how to use public toilets and that local custodians do a wonderful job of keeping Indiana's toilets clean. One democratic senator urged all republicans to see the Broadway play "Urinetown" to discover the consequences of too much governmental control over bodily functions.
