GOP challenger tops Burton in '07 fundraising

GOP primary challenger John McGoff raised more money than U.S. Rep. Dan Burton in the first three months of this year, according to new campaign finance records.

But the former Marion County coroner has a way to go to catch up to the Indianapolis Republican's total campaign war chest and pose a serious threat in 2008.

McGoff reported raising $97,920 through March compared with the $30,340 Burton raised. But Burton started the year with $723,588 left over from previous campaigns.
