More businesses closing in my neighborhood... |
|
Here on the west side of Anderson, a town that is supposedly being revitalized economically, blah blah blah. This morning I went with a friend right down the street to eat breakfast at a place I last ate at probably a year ago. Yeah, definitely closed down. And it's a small restaurant that's been here for a long time. A couple days ago my neighbor told me that one of the two groceries down the street from us is closing. The shelves are now almost bare...I should get my butt down there to see what I can find discounted before they close. This means the very large stretch of businesses on that side of the street will now be vacant other than a Rentway, a pawn shop, a dollar store, and a couple restaurants. It never ceases to amaze me how our town government is boasting of economic growth, but the growth seems to stop right at the railroad tracks that divide the town. Quite depressing...

I have seen a lot of small businesses close in Center Township of Indy. Hard times, so easily overlooked by the rich and many of the most influential upon the political class. :-(

that's exactly why we need a government of the real people - us, the peons and pawns of this world.
When I read about how much money these candidates have to raise to get into office, it sinks in so very deeply that if you don't have money (the upper class who forget what it's like to be the working class), you don't stand a chance.
