Seventh District Special Election |
Think it would be practical to insist that anyone seeking election to replace Julia Carson should pledge to follow Senator McGovern's advise and call for the impeachment of Bush and Cheney.

2. How about a simple yes or no from the candidates? |
Then give the voters an option. There are already enough "polls" being taken. It simply gives office-holders and candidates wiggle room. What is needed is for the voters to make a choice NOT the candidates.

3. It isn't done that way |
If that issue is not important to the voters it will no be included in the campaign. It may be included as part of their platform but not enough to be part of their overall message.

4. As long as we allow MSM |
to set the agenda, perhaps the assertions of criminal conduct by this administration will not be an issue of importance to most voters. However, I am suggesting if that is allowed to persist. Our representatives will then feel free to ignore those accusations of criminality as an issue that is subject to the whim of popular opinion. There happens to be too many voices of respectable and experienced persons raising the question. The system in place to respond to those questions should be used. Any person who purports to represent the public owes that public a yes or no and taking a poll is not an answer to the question.

5. It's nice to see "stewardship" at work... |
Wouldn't it be great if we lived in a society where we could declare our successors instead of having to elect them? Oh, wait, we fought a war over that in the late 1700s, IIRC. Dynasties are part of monarchies, not democratic politics.
