Subject: FISA
Subject: FISA

Yesterday the Senate approved a new FISA bill which
would grant immunity to telecommunication companies
guilty of engaging in unwarranted wiretaps and to
government officials who talked them into it. Today
President Bush is leaning hard on the House to do
likewise.

Mark Souder and Joe Donnelly must hear from us
quickly. They need to stand up for the Constitution
and not allow themselves to be scared into taking
America down a road from which there will be no
return.

The House’s version of this bill adheres to the
principle of rule of law. The Senate’s bill is
doesn’t.

You can easily send a message to Speaker Pelosi,
Majority Leader Hoyer and your congressman on this
important issue at

1. I wouldn't bother
Rather the message should be sent to your respective Congress member. And for good measure chew out Evan Bayh for voting for it.

2. Donnelly the blue dog
Explained away his first vote for fisa last August.
The Administration convinced him the boogyman was gonna get us. "There was chatter" I requested he keep me informed of the attacks we thwarted between Aug. 07 and Feb 08. Crickets.
Since they weren't held accountable for the first fisa vote, why would they think we will hold them responsible for telecom immunity either?
