Is your primary on May 6 open or closed? |
|
I ask because I'm getting concerned about the prospects for Republican mischief. It was one thing to have open primaries when Republicans were kept busy with their own presidential primaries, but now that the Republican presidential race is settled, I worry about Limbaugh dittoheads contaminating Democratic primaries.
Is Indiana open or closed? Are Republicans voting for down-ballot primaries on May 6?

2. Republicans following marching orders from Limbaugh to vote for Hillary |
|
To 1) keep the Democratic fighting going on longer and 2) because they believe Hillary is the easier Democrat to beat in November.
Earlier in the cycle, Republicans who voted in the Democratic primaries chose Obama, but that was because they liked him. Now that Republicans have settled their contest, there might be more of them willing or able to disrupt the Democratic contest by voting for a candidate that they have no intention of voting for in the real election in November.

5. It's open but there are other local races of importance that should |
|
minimize any shenanigans the Republicans might consider. In addition, in Allen County their party is a bit in disarray.

So often where I am the only vote for local office that matters is the Republican primary...

7. In Vigo County, most people vote in the Dem primary |
|
Cheifly because the Republicans either don't bother fielding local candidates, or they are running unopposed until the general election.
