NEW: Obama set to speak in KokomoPresidential hopeful will appear at Memorial Gym Friday.
U.S. Sen. Barack Obama announced today that he will make his first appearance in Kokomo on Friday.
The Democratic presidential hopeful will appear in a town hall meeting at 6:15 p.m. Friday at Memorial Gymnasium, located at East Superior Street and South Apperson Way. The doors will open at 4:30 p.m.
Obama will also make stops in Anderson and Marion Saturday.
According to information from his campaign office, Obama is set to discuss his ideas to strengthen the economy, lower the cost of health care and end the Iraq war.
The event is free and open to the public, however seating is limited and tickets are required.
Members of the public are invited to sign up to receive a free ticket via e-mail at www.barackobama.com or to pick up free tickets at the Obama for America Kokomo Headquarters, 220 E. Sycamore St.
Tickets will be available starting at 5 p.m. today.
