Well it's official. Gluba is the new Mayor of Davenport

Well, he will be on January 3 anyway. He defeated his opponent by an overwhelming margin. At his victory party Bruce Braley called to congratulate him and Gluba immediately asked Braley to "Save some Money for us and our sewer system". See, we need a sewage tunnel which will be around 30 million dollars and Gluba has already stated that he will seek federal funds to help out.
Btw, the quote may not be exact, but that is the gist of it. It was also said somewhat in jest, but we do need a new sewer tunnel in the west end. Congrats to Gluba. He also showed up at the Biden event yesterday. He gets around. And I think our city is in good hands.

He's a good man, and too good a Democrat to not be in government at some level.

4. I think Gluba is a good guy. I had a quite lengthy conversation

with him in our town's (now-defunct) coffeehouse, dealing largely with foreign policy and Iraq and he really had a good approach and an understanding of the forces that got us into that disaster.
