Saw estimates of 28,000 between Des Moines and Cedar Rapids events. Judging from where I sat, Cornfields' numbers are right on for CR.
Fantastic event that included such a diverse group. It was clear that Obama was blown away with the crowd size. Campaign was sure the weather would keep folks away. But then this is Iowa. We ran into blowing snow and drifting from Filmore to Monticello and freezing rain from Iowa City to CR. On the way home we counted 17 cars in the ditch between CR and IC. We were sitting at Steak & Shake in IC when friends called to say they had just gotten out of the parking ramp in CR! Hopefully everyone made it home safely.
Well worth the trip!!
