I recently came across a blog at Cyclone Conservative pushing there readers to start a smear campaign against two of the best legistlatures we have in our state house, Elesha Gayman of District 84 and fellow veteran McKinley Bailey of District 9. This really boiled my blood as McKinley Bailey is not only a veteran but one of the most active members of the veterns affairs committee. I would like to kindly ask everyone to check out both Rep. Gayman and Rep. Bailey and lend your support in any way possible.
Thank you very much for your time and attention.

1. Gayman is high on the repug pick-off list for several reasons |
|
and they think she is very vulnerable because of her age and district. She has been a real worker in the house and from some young folk I know a true inspiration. I am sure my path will cross hers this cycle and I will lend a small hand. Bailey I know little of, other than his early endorsement of Obama. But I know he's a good liberal and hope he does well since he is a ways from me.

3. Elesha Gayman is going on to bigger and better things |
|
She is smart, hard working, and one of us. She comes from a family of working stiffs like the rest of us, and I have met her and her parents. She has a sister who is married and just raising a family and a younger brother who is-gasp!- a teenager. I will work my ass for her even though she isn't my rep. She's the next district over and I have developed respect for her.

because of all the fucking conservative nutters there- To bad because I love the Cyclones (Ames born) I just can't stand the conservative bent of the fan base. I live in IC and have cyclone plates and very liberal bumper stickers so when I get the finger I never know which they hate more?

I wonder if the republicans realize how hypocritical they are on this issue. Think of how many times you hear complaints of unions donating to political issues ... but here we have corporations (Mid American being a monopoly of sorts) who raises my power bill, but still has money to donate to conservative causes. I think the IDP should stack the utilities board with members who will sink any rate increases while Mid America has money to throw at political candidates.
