The price of gas in my town is _$___________ and I am pissed! |
|
Just wondering what the price of gas is where you are at. I saw $3.24 in IC yesterday. My lifestyle has been affected. Haven't gone to a movie for 6 months for instance.

|
Cost us over $60.00 x( Yeouch! The clerk at the station to fill up now b/c it's only going up. I think I used the 'F' word at him. Sorry guy :hi:
Mr. Debi drove to Des Moines last week. Filled the car up. Drove to-from Des Moines. Filled it up again. (the gas was almost as much as his hotel room! :wow:)

or more. In Illinois it's a bit more. Yes, it has affected my lifestyle to a degree. The cost of food and everything else has gone up as a result of gas and diesel prices going up. And in my job, I deal with trucks and other diesel burning vehicles. The drivers are worried as many of them are owner-operators.

3. $3.07 in Council Bluffs. But later in the day I saw $3.17 |
|
I've been doing taxes for the last couple days and reviewing expenses for the year. WE actually lowered our home utility bills last year a little. But that savings is lost in a couple fill ups at the gas station.
Most of my clients are out of town. I have to wonder how they are going to feel about the added $$ on their bill for travel every time they hire me. I don't think I can afford to absorb that cost and I certainly can't afford to lose the business. Thanks Exxon. Thanks * :grr:

includes hot water. We paid 10% of estimated usage in August to get a $1.55 contract for the season.

Also would like a geothermal heating/cooling unit.
(and solar panels/small wind turbine for energy)
I'll gladly accept any donations of units/funds toward the purchase :bounce:

13. Tankless water heater? |
|
We got one a couple years back. Love it, love it, love it! Not sure how much it saves us, but I am sure it is a nice amount. We added a bunch of insulation and a corn stove heater as our main heat the same year. Our gas bill is now about $250/year and most of that is hookup fee. I think we usually spend less than $10/month on actual gas. We use the gas furnace as the final source of heat on the really cold nights.

My brother-in-law bought a corn burner a couple of years ago because he claimed it saved him money over using natural gas.. I am wonder now that corn prices have more than doubled if its still cheaper the natural gas..

7. I have been hammering * on this |
|
I normally would not because the prezdint doesn't have much to do with the price of gas but... Gas was 1.46 when * took over. He raised it in the debate with Gore "1.86 is unacceptable for a gallon of gas. I would release the strategic oil reserves to keep prices low and jawbone OPEC into producing more oil"
At my local stop I always say...." I just had a couple of hundred bucks in gas. Boy (insert local republican name they always are sitting within earshot of the counter) I am sure glad we have an oil man in the white house"

|
especially when others are present. Usually something like "every time I buy gas I am reminded how much I hate Bush."

10. So what are you going to do about it?? |
|
You know gas prices don't piss me off because I know why they are so high and I have taken steps to cut back my driving considerably to save money.. I believe I've only put about 600 miles or less on my car this year..

and I haven't outside of being a designated driver in the past four years. Granted, I've had the luxury of having my workplace, two grocery stores, two convenience stores, and a major bus line within an easy walking distance from my apartment.
