I don't remember the bill he was one of the main sponsor for in the early eighties. But Reagan called him into his office and brought him to his knees to not only give up being the sponsor but had him switch his vote against what a majority of Iowans believed in. This cost him his re-election to Harkin. It also was the beginning of the republican senate doing the business of the president instead of an independent senate and their contingencies.
Steve King is an embarrassment to Iowa, but he is in line with the conservatism you find in his section of the state. I just was doing some research yesterday and One of his counties, Sioux County gave him less then twenty per cent of the vote. The number that comes to mind is 13 something.

Although perhaps that is because I am too young to realize how big of douchebags these others were!
The sad thing is, it's not like King is that out of line with some of his constituency.

I guess it would probably come down to a tie between him and King.

10. I should be flogged for forgetting him |

just heard him today running down the farm bill. I admit it has problems, but most of the bill was for food stamps, for god's sake. and then there is his adultery er family situation.
