Convention roundup - who's attending? Are you a delegate/altermate? And for which candidate?

The Debi family are all alternates for Obama and at the moment are planning on attending (at least I think we are, haven't talked about it w/Mr. Debi since last Sunday. Maybe I should check on that....x()

1. I will be AWOL..

I just signed over my paperwork to a co-worker who will be attending in my place. I couldn't bring myself to personally go in support of Clinton, but owed a friend a vote so I signed it over to another Clinton supporter. Turns out she has quite a bit of family that will be there and she's going to ask them to support my guy - so I dont feel too bad.

I just hope Clinton acknowledges defeat before then!

2. I just got a call from an Obama delegate and it sounds like I'll be taking his place

(only need two more so Mr. Debi and Debi, Jr. can be delegates BEFORE we get to Des Moines).

Mr. Debi says we need to re-think driving down and staying for the night b/c of all we need to be doing here (I swear I cannot pick up one more shingle or branch or piece of glass....:banghead: I don't know how the folks in Parkersburg and New Hartford and Dunkerton are doing it, I'm going batty!)

So it looks like we'll be there just for the day - hope things go smoothly and it's not a repeat of 2004 x(!

3. My wife is there as an Edwards delegate. I am going in

my position as military attache for the Kingdom of Prussia.

Sorry to hear the clean-up is tedious. I hope you're
missing the latest round of storms. This is getting
insane! Looks like big storms are moving through
central Iowa all night tonight.

6. Last night sucked!!

Between lightning - thunder - heavy rain Debi didn't sleep a wink (and thanks to my gutters no longer being attached to my house my basement is now wet wet wet! x()

Hope nobody is getting flooded (what a mess!)
