Well one (small) positive about our state being underwater |
|
I imagine that since it's an election year that all of our Reps. will be requesting federal aid for flood and tornado victims. I bet even King will be on board with this. And Grassley and Harkin too. In fact, if any of our local politicians are not on board with this, then they should never get a vote again.

3. But King lives in Iowa |

and has to come back and face the people sooner or later. Although, I have my doubts whether or not he will do anything that seems like the correct thing to do. As far as following in Nussle's footsteps, he (King) can leave whenever he wants, just as Nussle did.

7. Not like the rest of the state. |

Other than the tornado in Little Sioux, we've come through this relatively well. NW Iowa was one of the least affected in the state.
King doesn't even have anything on his website about the tornado victims but he managed to get this posted:
King Named on List of “Best and Brightest” In Congress Washington, D.C. — Congressman Steve King has been named one of the “Best and Brightest” members of the 110th Congress by the national organization, the American Conservative Union (ACU). King scored 100% on its ratings for 2007.
“Congressman King’s rating of 100 and a rating of 98 over 5 years of service reflects consistent support for conservative principles across a broad range of issues,” said Larry Hart, American Conservative Union’s Director of Government relations. “He is someone who grassroots conservatives in Iowa and across the country have looked to, and will continue to look to, for leadership.”
The American Conservative Union is America’s oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization. For 37 years, its annual ratings have been widely regarded as the “gold standard,” the definitive conservative assessment of the federal legislative branch.

Oh brother. The ACU is obviously a misguided group. Hope I never run into any of them.
