RNC members call for refined message W/CF Courier
:rofl: Oh ... no ... wait ... they're not kidding x(

http://www.wcfcourier.com/articles/2008/07/26/news/politics/10496553.txt

<snip>

Scheffler, president of the Iowa Christian Alliance, and Kim Lehman, president of Iowa Right to Life, won spots on the party's national committee during elections at the Republican Party of Iowa's state convention earlier this month.

Lehman, who also spoke on "Iowa Press" Friday, said the election of the two social conservatives to the national committee affirms the state party's commitment to conservative values.

"I believe when I was elected, it was just a confirmation that we are a pro-life party. We're the party of family values," she said.

<snip>

"All of these conservatives that are pro-life, pro-family are very fiscally conservative as well," she said. "I don't think that the party has changed its view or the platform has changed its view."

<snip>

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

At least we can agree on this :

Both Scheffler and Lehman agreed that keeping Iowa's caucuses at the front of the presidential nomination calendar ranks among their highest priorities.
They said they would aggressively defend the state's first-in-the-nation status and predicted that Iowa would kick off the nomination process in 2012.

Oh and in case you didn't know what the IRP stands for... here's their platform http://www.iowagop.net/inner.asp?z=11

1. A refined message for the repubs.
"We are complete and utter failures. We suck and you don't. So if you vote for us, maybe we won't suck as much." It makes as much sense as anything else those dumbasses say.

2. WOW!
Just WOW! That platform is the most convoluted, backward, feeble thing I've read since...well, since I read the GOP's 2004 platform.

The best part is the end:

14. Commendations
We, the Republican Party of Iowa, hereby commend the dedication and hard work of each of our Republican elected leaders:

14.1. President George W. Bush

14.2. Presidential Candidate, Senator John McCain

14.3. U. S. Senator Charles Grassley

14.4. U.S. Representative Steve King, Fifth Congressional District

14.5. U.S. Representative Tom Latham, Fourth Congressional District

14.6. Bill Northey, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture

14.7. David Vaudt, Iowa State Auditor

That's the best they've got for commendations?

3. I wonder if they meant "condemnations" and simply mispelled it?
doubt that they can use spell-check.
