Jenni Lee, a spokesperson for the campaign, says: “We want to invite undecided voters from across the political spectrum to discuss how Sen. Obama will bring Democrats, Republicans and independents together to bring the change our country needs.”
The campaign wants a smaller setting to have this discussion.
Obama will be at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, according to both fair and local political officials.
The visit is part of a battleground states tour that will begin in Wisconsin on Sunday and end in Colorado at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday.
Stops also are planned in Missouri and Montana.
Few details about the Davenport visit were being released today.
The event will be open to the media in addition to the invited guests.
Bob Fox, the general manager of the fairgrounds, previously said the campaign was seeking an outdoor site for the visit.
Obama, a U.S. senator who represents Illinois, will be officially nominated as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate next week.
