Big props to the state of Iowa! |
|
I was an Edwards' supporter, but I have to say after the caucus in Iowa early this year, I was once again so proud to be an American. A predominately white state chose as its winner in the Democratic caucus an African-American. It showed to me that perhaps we are making progress on the issue of race in this country.
Now I'm seeing Obama is doing great in the Iowa polling. You guys are awesome. And to borrow a quote from Katie Couric, "I think Iowa rocks." I'm so proud of all of you.
Signed - a grateful American and Texan.

====================== "I was once again so proud to be an American." ====================== That's the kind of talk that got Michelle into so much hot water!
Even my rich Republican white county went for Obama in the Dem caucus. So yes, I wish the rest of the country had the common sense of us Iowans.

4. Hey, even Western Iowa is going almost purple |
|
From what I've been hearing, Western Iowa is getting bluer. It's still too red for my taste, but it's better than it was in 2004.

5. I've been getting that feeling too. |

I don't know how far blue it will go but there does seem to be a trend. I just hope the centrists don't fall back on old fears and habits on vote R.

6. We are working hard out here in the northwest part of the state. |

I am seeing many more Obama signs than McCain. I am not sure how that will translate, but no one is talking up McCain/Palin.
Now if we can just get Hubler in, and King out, well.. it is almost too much to ask I know, but who cares..
I AM ASKING

Its great driving around in the country/rural Iowa and seeing Obama signs. Hopefully along with getting a Democrat in the White House this will help the image of the people of Iowa. Its amazing how many people still think we talk with southern accents and are a Republican stronghold.
