Does anyone know how Senate vacancies are filled here in Iowa? Special election? Appointment by the governor?

2. Personally I think all states should be election based |

I must agree I like the Alaska method, a short term appointment can be made for up to ninety days while a special election is set. Of course if you are of the Governors party the idea is that you are the chosen candidate of your party and serving the short term basis allows you to be called "Senator" while campaigning. Big help I suppose.
