good job ladies!
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Tuesday was sweeter than Kelsey Bolte ever dreamed.
The Iowa State guard dropped 16 points on Ball State. She did it on national television. And now she’s going to see the Golden Gate Bridge. For more ISU sports, see GoCyclones.
“I’m really excited to go,” Bolte said. “I’ve never been in that area before.”
And thanks, in part, to Bolte’s sweet shooting, the fourth-seeded Cyclones defeated the 12th-seeded Cardinals 71-57 Tuesday to advance to the Sweet Sixteen in Berkeley, Calif., minutes from the famous orange bridge connecting San Francisco and Marin County to the north.
“I can’t wait to get out there,” Bolte said.
ISU (25-8) will face No. 9 seed Michigan State (22-10), which upset No. 1 Duke 63-49 Tuesday, at 8 p.m. Saturday. It’s the Cyclones’ fourth Sweet Sixteen appearance and first since 2001.
