This week on a local DSM TV station, Democratic Party regular Jerry Crawford made the prediction that in the next month or so we will see a major name in Iowa politics enter the race for US Senate against Grassley. Any rumors going around? My bet is Braley, Conlin, or one of the Vilsacks. Dark horse candidate I would love to see is Sen. Bill Dotzler.

1. Did it sound like his prediction was based on some sort of insider info? |
|
Or just a wild assed guess?

It sounded as though someone is testing the waters and seeing if there are funds to make it viable and if polling shows any movement in his popularity. It also sounded as if the answers to those questions are YES.

2. Vilsack may have a chance |
|
But would he give up his Cabinet post? And from a selfish standpoint, I'd rather not see Braley announce for the Senate, but if it would get rid of Grassley, then by all means, he should go for it.

I read somewhere that Christie's name was being thrown around too.

I believe the Vilsacks are out. My out of thin air guess is Tom Miller.

7. Now Miller is a well known politician |
|
And I know from personal experience that he fights for us "common men". If he runs, he may win. No matter who it is, we HAVE to oust Grassley.
