Poll: Iowans have health cost issues

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- A new poll finds that most Iowans have had issues with health care costs.

The poll in Wednesday's Des Moines Register asked Iowans about personal problems with health insurance and medical care expenses.

The survey found 71 percent of those questioned have dealt with expensive illnesses, had trouble paying for health insurance, lost coverage or suffered other problems caused by fast-rising medical costs.

Among those, 47 percent favored most of the national health care reform efforts, while 43 percent opposed them.
