The Public Option. Harkin. and Boswell |
|
I went to my county convention today, and asked Harkin about the public option. He said that he is for it but the votes for it in the House (the House, mind you) are not there. Then I asked Boswell if they in the House have the votes for the public option, and he said yes. WTF is going on!?
By the way, both seemed slightly annoyed that they would be asked about the public option, as if they were getting beaten up about it...

2. I think they are getting beaten up about it. And rightfully so. |

Too many are afraid to take a stand one way or another. I understand their hesitation - they don't want to alienate the base or the middle. I suppose they hope it will just fade away and they can avoid having to be on the record.
I faxed my support for it to Harkin's office. Maybe Monday, I'll call and try to talk to an actual person and see what's going on.
