A rising star in Iowa politics is retiring |
|
Elesha Gayman, 31, of Davenport has announced that she will not be seeking a third term in Iowa House District 84. She sites several reasons, including paying off her student loans and a pending marriage to a guy from Washington DC. This is bad news for Iowans because this young lady was a champion for not only young people, but the working class and underprivliged. She never ever has forgotten where she came from, working class people. I wish her luck in her life after politics, but sort of wish she would stick around. Yes, she certainly has a right to lead her own life, but she will be missed by the Scott County Dems, as well as Dems. all over the state. I read about this in this morning's QC Times and if you run a search at their website, you can likely find this story. www.qctimes.com. I didn't see it on the front page or in the local news page on the website.

I read the heading in the QC Times, but didn't read the article.
Your neighbors to the north are losing our good State Senator Roger Stewart. I sure didn't like the dem that is running for his seat, but now he has a a primary challenger who seems to be a good guy. I'm so relieved.
