Dubuque County Sheriff Ken Runde has been
officially nominated to become the next U.S. Marshall for the Northern District of Iowa;
The White House on Wednesday officially nominated Dubuque County Sheriff Ken Runde for U.S. marshal, more than one year after he first was recommended for the job.
The move is the first step in the formal nomination process for Runde to take the post of the U.S. marshal for the Northern District of Iowa.
In April 2009, U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, recommended Runde for the job.
"All I want to say right now is I'm excited to move on to the next stage. If and when I'm confirmed, I'll be excited to start as marshal," Runde said.
I think he'll make a fine U.S. Marshal too.
