how come you call the dubuque herald the teabagger herald? Dubuque has the longest streak of democratic presidential wins of any Iowa county. The last time it voted for a republican was in 1956. This was a county that even voted for George McGovern and Walter Mondale

Media in a town often does not reflect the political leanings of said town. Johnson County is probably the most liberal of Iowa counties. Yet the 3 radio stations do not reflect that. KXIC is ClearChannel - home of Hannity. WSUI is NPR. We could get into a long discussion on NPR, but I would not classify them as progressive by any measure. Not sure how to classify KCJJ - sure ain't progressive.
And if you look across the country, media leans very right. This is hardly reflective of the populace.
Them that have the money own the media and them that have the money are generally not progressive. The media is not the town and the town is not the media.
ETA in the same vein, I doubt anyone would think WHO is reflective of Des Moines, nor KXEL reflective of Waterloo.
