The Dubuque area
lost a truly good man;
Dubuque lost a stalwart of labor and a friend of the less fortunate Friday night.
Bill Delaney, 85, died at home, surrounded by his family.
Delaney was heavily involved in local labor movements, serving in many officer roles with the Teamsters Local 421 (now Teamsters Local 120), including as business agent from 1976 to 1981 and president from 1981 to 1988.
Delaney also was a founder and current president of the Dubuque Area Labor Harvest, which exists to help the hungry obtain food through breakfasts and food giveaways.
RIP Mr. Delaney.
