Went to Walgreens the other day and was terrified I'd get arrested because I bought TWO different kinds of allergy meds with decongestant stuff in them. What a pain in the *ss! Show 'em your id, sign the damn book.
What happens if I happen to buy them over the internet to get around the hassle (and get them cheaper)? Will Phil Kline kick open my door, taser my cat and confiscate all my Kukla, Fran and Ollie videos as evidence??
Signed,
Worried in Crack Alley

1. You have to sign and show ID for allergy meds? |
|
What kind?
I use Clartin-D 24 hour, we can buy only 2 boxes at one store.
This really doesn't make sense to me because there are lots of stores to go to.
:hi:

2. Claritin D is one of them |
|
Anything with pseudoephedrine (I think). Apparently that's one of the ingredients used to make crystal meth. You're lucky you can buy two boxes. Even before this started I was only able to buy ONE box of 15 pills at one store (not allowed a whole month's worth).

6. That's terrible, all it does is make it hard on people who really need |
|
help with their allergies. I need it for my watery eyes for only two months depending on the pollen count, I am using some herbs which seem to help.
I hope you are feeling better. I finally got rid of the carpet last week, and that helped alot. Now I will be replacing the carpet with peel and stick tile, that will be my summer job. I hated that carpet, I knew it was part of the problem. I feel so much better now, almost normal.

5. I actually think this is a good idea. |

Crystal Meth is a huge problem where I'm from. (Lafayette, Indiana) And - I used to take those allergy meds - and they will give you sinusitis. Don't take them if you can help it. They dry out your nasal cavities. That is a very bad thing. I read a great article written by an M.D. about how bad these meds are. She said water is the best medicine. You should encourage your bodies defense mechanisms. You body need more moisture and mucus to defend itself against the allergens. Only take those meds when your nose runs too much to sleep - and only for a short while. Drink lots of water, drink hot tea, get a humidifier if you need to, inhale steam, and irrigate your nasal passages with a slightly salty solution if necessary.

7. I have been drinking some herbal teas, took a few days but I have |
|
noticed a difference. I also have an indoor water fountain, that is important in the summer with air all the time.
This year the pollen was really bad and hit early, my poor eyes were just running, I am glad that is over.
I will be ready with the herbs next year, and no carpet.

8. Good Luck - allergies are horrible! |

I'm trying to get a job in Austin - wish me luck! I HATE Indiana - even though I was born here! I've been reading up on Austin and it sounds fabulous. The heat might bother me though.

9. You will love Austin, it's a great place. |
|
I moved there after high school and then moved back after 4 years in the military, it is a little different now but still great.
I would be living there now but my mother became ill so I had move back to help her out, my heart is in Austin.
I go back and visit my friends there as often as I can, but it not the same living there.
One warning Texas is hot in the summer and very humid, but fall, winter and spring makes up for it. You will also be close to the Gulf Coast, it maybe 250 miles or so. Galveston is nice to visit, I like to go there in fall and winter.
Good luck in finding a job, and if you can't try Houston. There are lot of democrats down here, and we have a great radio station Pacifica radio station KPFT, www.kpft.org.
Welcome to Texas.
