I just stopped in to check on things and I see this good news. It is amazing to me that they are above 20%. Kansans are a stubborn lot, hard to give up old traditions but if we keep plugging away at it we will eventually win. Perhaps by the time they are up for their next vote.
How is Nancy doing? You are working for her aren't you? Keep her in good stead with the GLBT community and she will gain so hard workers. Last I heard she had changed her stance on the marriage issue and everyone was pretty happy to hear that.

2. We're doing a fundraiser in late April |
|
I'll let you know what's going on. We (between 3 and 10 people) are meeting at my house about it tonight. I was actually hoping to get you involved somehow. For the record I'm not working for her campaign. I just like doing fundraisers for candidates I support.

GLBT rights. If not I think I am kind of in a bind. I have met her and I liked her well enough but that one little thing is an awfully big thing for me and many others.
I have never done a fundraiser, I should learn.
Seriously, check that out if the opportunity arises, if not I can find out.
Edit to add, the GLBT thing is actually a deal breaker for me. In this state at this time I can't really work for anyone not supporting that. I can vote for them since the alternative is that dolt in the Congress now.

5. Roberts and Civil Rights |
|
There is one idea that I would like to see spread from one end of Kansas to the other.
Twice, now, I have heard Senator Roberts say, "You don't have any civil liberties if you are dead."
I want to see a cartoon spread across Kansas that has Senator Roberts addressing George Washington's Continental Army, telling the soldiers there to go home, that liberty is not worth dying for, because "You don't have civil liberties if you're dead."
If that image could be made a part of the Kansas consciousness, then Roberts' political career could be ended.
If that is too much to hope for, then I would add an image of colonial business people and citizens cheering the Roberts character in saying that, spreading the idea that those who support Roberts are the intellectual descendents of those who would have had George Washington's troops desert and go home rather than risk death.

I dislike both of these guys and think they do NOT represent the people of Kansas.

does NOT represent me. I am ashamed to be from Kansas, and he is one of the reasons.
His bullshit with the "snowflake" babies is truly embarrassing.
