The Kansas Democratic Party is looking for volunteers to do canvassing on April 29 for the 2006 elections. Below is the text from the sign-up website. These events are happening all over Kansas. If you have the time that Saturday please consider signing up.

Hope has returned to the Heartland; let’s make 2006 a banner year for the Kansas Democratic Party.

Join the Kansas Democratic Party and Democrats from across America in one of the largest coordinated events in the history of the Democratic Party! Join us as we strengthen the Democratic community in Kansas; neighborhood by neighborhood, door by door!

Be a part of the team that lays the groundwork to re-elect Governor Kathleen Sebelius, replace radical Republicans Phill Kline and Jim Ryun, send Dennis Moore back to Congress, and re-elect our local Representatives; Barbara Ballard, Paul Davis, and Tom Holland.

By talking to just 25 people, in the course of a single afternoon, you can help the Kansas Democratic Party establish the foundation for success in 2006, 2008 and beyond!

We will provide you with the tools necessary to take back Kansas. All you need to do is show up!

An aside to proud2Blib:

Where did you get your alum logo? And were we ships in the night last weekend and last summer? As I do not have enough posts on DU to personally contact you. We were at Camp I in august, and arrived at Camp II on last friday early afternoon (just in time for Patrick to go support the Prairie Dog 13, with Dave and Nick), and left monday noon. Saw your son drumming, I guess, but didn't know he was from Kansas. When Ann was asking where everyone was from on Sunday, I was the only one calling out Kansas that I heard! I even put a little sign on the table to try to locate any other of us Kansans. I was amazed that virtually no one knew we had elected a female democrat for governor 4 years ago!

I am in SE Kansas (tye-heart country....)

3. We Are Coordinating in Wichita

The Sedgwick County Democratic Party in Wichita is coordinating efforts for the National Door-to-Door Day. Please call 316-262-7534 and ask for Lindsay Gentry to arrange to help out there.

Hell, I might have to find out if he can fly in to KCI over that weekend. He could stop by and pick up evl on the way to the Hollow. That way they could spend a lot of time together and we'd all get earfuls (or get our houses egged or our trees will get TP'ed).

Thanks to everyone who came and helped us strenghten the grassroots on the 29th! The day was a huge success, despite the rain. We found hundreds of new volunteers throughout the state, and took our message to thousands of Dems!

I hope you all will join us again in the future!
