I went to the Johnson County Dem meetup tonight and met several impressive candidates.

Don Weiss is running for state board of education in southern Jo Co. The seat is currently occupied by a RW talibornagain. Don's website is www.DonWeiss.org

No offense to Don but Mickey Mouse could be running and I would recommend voting for him over that fundie on the board now. We need to restore sanity to that state board and a vote for Don will do that. I asked Don if he believed in evolution and he said yes. That's enough for me :)

Andy Sandler is running for state rep in the 24th district (my district!) in NE Jo Co. He is an impressive liberal Democrat, just what we need more of in Kansas. Andy's website is www.andyforkansas.com

Missy Taylor is running for state rep in Roeland Park. She is having a fiesta fundraiser Thursday, April 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 at Torero's in Fairway, 4200 Shawnee Mission Parkway. Suggested donation $25


Hint hint - all candidates need $$$ so put a crowbar on your wallets folks. We need to take this state back from the RW.
