Governor Sebelius to introduce new Lt. Governor candidate, Wednesday, May 31.

Governor Kathleen Sebelius will formally announce her candidacy for re-election locally as well as announce and introduce for the first time her 2006 running mate Wednesday, May 31, at 9 a.m., at the KU Edwards Campus in the Regnier Hall Lobby.

We are inviting supporters of the Governor to join us to celebrate her leadership as she begins her 2006 re-election campaign. Under the Governor’s leadership, 41,000 Kansas children have health insurance who did not have it before, 20,000 more Kansans have jobs, and public education has received its biggest investment ever. Such extraordinary progress will continue under the Governor’s leadership in a second term.

To show our strong support for Governor Sebelius in Johnson County , we urge you to attend Wednesday’s announcement – and bring two friends. You are also encouraged to create and bring your own double-sided sign to show your support. Try to arrive early at 8:30 before the official 9 a.m. announcement.

The Governor will also be appearing in Wichita at noon on Wednesday, May 31st, to make the same introduction of her Lt. Gov. running mate. The event will be held at the Raytheon building - the far north end - which is located on the east side of the road leading away from Mid-Continent Airport. If you want a decent parking place, try to be there earlier.
