BOYDA ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR JANUARY 19-22
TOPEKA, KS - Congresswoman Nancy Boyda (Kansas Second District) will address a meeting of the Veterans of Foreign Wars this weekend and will attend the ribbon cutting for a new Veterans Affairs Community-Based Outreach Clinic. Her public calendar for January 19-22 is below. Please call to confirm events as the schedule can change at the last minute.
Friday, January 19 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Topeka's 14th Annual Community Martin Luther King Celebration Central Congregational Church 1248 SW Buchanan Topeka, Kansas Description: Congresswoman Boyda will attend this community celebration of the life of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Saturday, January 20 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Retired Military Personnel Group Meeting Greenery Restaurant 1315 N State Street Iola, Kansas Description: Congresswoman Boyda will speak briefly to a group of retired military personnel.
9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Angel Food Ministries Haldex Manufacturing 2702 N State Street Iola, Kansas Description: Congresswoman Boyda will meet volunteers at a discounted food distribution program that reaches approximately 300 members of the Iola community.
12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. VFW District Two Winter Meeting VFW Post 1165 1745 S National Fort Scott, Kansas Description: Congresswoman Boyda will attend a BBQ held by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She may deliver brief remarks.
6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Leavenworth Public Library Ladies' Night Out University of St. Mary's McGilley Fieldhouse 4100 S 4th Street Leavenworth, Kansas Description: Congresswoman Boyda will attend this fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Monday, January 22 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic Ribbon Cutting 2200 Harvard Road Lawrence, Kansas
Description: Congresswoman Boyda will deliver remarks at the formal opening of the new VA Community-Based Outreach Clinic.

That's nice to know... Figure Penny or someone would have sent a notice out(being she is the county chair of the Democratic party.) Had I known that I would have found someone to cover it or I would have requested the time off from my work had I known far enough in advance. I'm working like two something to nine tomorrow. I'll see if I can find someone to cover, maybe donate like 20 bucks to it. If I can go I'll take my camera and snap photos for next elections voter guides, her website, etc.
Bah! I wish I had known!
