I know I'm pushing the limits of the board rules here. |
|
but Dennis Moore is useless, and since a primary challenge probably won't happen, there's really only one electoral option next November which will make him go away so we can get a fresh start in 2010. If I lived on the other side of the state line I'd probably do it.

1. There's always a distant |
|
possibility that he will run for the Senate. I can think of two Kansas Democrats who might possibly be interested in running if he wants out, or to run for something else.
I'm basing this purely on my own observations and speculations, NOT by anything anyone has said or actually done.
Pat Roberts will be up for re-election next year. I have no idea if Dennis Moore has any senatorial aspirations. I don't think he'll run for the Senate unless he feels extremely certain he will win, and/or the Democrat running in his place is strongly favored to win. Moore has gotten himself elected and then re-elected four times by appealing to the moderate Republicans in his district, knowing that the Democrats will vote for him no matter how unhappy they are because what choice do they have? And I don't think your suggestion is a viable one in that there would be no way of guessing some three years ahead of time who could replace that as-yet unknown replacement of Dennis.
A primary challenge won't happen because the Kansas Democratic Party would give NO support of any kind to a Democrat foolish enough to try it. Maybe, just maybe, a very wealthy and ambitious person could challenge Dennis, and could maybe buy enough advertising to defeat him. But that's beyond unlikely. Dennis's fund-raising is very good, very well organized. He has lots of major donors in his pocket, and he knows how to work them. I've been to some of those fundraisers, and I know.

He bends over too much to appease the center.

4. Who were his Repub challengers? Cobach or whatever? You'd rather have someone |
|
like him than Dennis? I am in Wichita and have Tiahrt. I would love to have Moore as my Rep. I'd rather have a Dem I agree with on some issues then a Repub who I never agree with!

7. I don't think it is pushing the limits if you're advocating for a better Democrat |
|
to represent us. You're right though. Dennis needs to wake up and one of the ways it will happen is if he gets some competition for the nomination.
